In early June 2020, White Bay Villas (WBV) undertook a large survey of past guests and/or those familiar with Jost Van Dyke (JVD) to get their thoughts, feedback and input on a variety of topics. We received over 500 responses to our survey.
Last time, we highlighted an important issue related to future travel plans. That is, what does safe, healthy, responsible and resilient travel look like? You can read our blog here.
This week, we want to highlight some of the other results and things we learned from the survey.
74% of respondents expect they will travel back to the Virgin Islands in the next 12 months and that makes us optimistic and excited! Another 25% are thinking it’s more like 18 months to 2 years before they expect to travel back to the Virgin Islands.
Here are a few “WOW” moments from the survey that makes us feel really good:
1 in 4 former WBV guests or 26% of guests rate WBV as the BEST compared to other Caribbean resorts they have stayed in the past 5 years. Two thirds or 66% of guests that stayed at WBV as in the TOP 5 resorts compared to other Caribbean resorts they have stayed in the past 5 years.
Another way of putting this is that 92.5% of the past guests that stayed at WBV, rate us as best or in the top 5 compared to other Caribbean resorts they have stayed in the past 5 years.
86% of past guests are likely or very likely to recommend WBV to friends or family. Past guests rate WBV an average score of 4.5 (on a scale of 1 to 5 where 5 is very likely) to recommend WBV to friends or family.
We asked what you like most about White Bay as well as your favorite things to do on JVD. By far, the number one answer for both was the beach.
And among all of the delicious restaurants on Jost Van Dyke, Foxy's, Corsair's, and Hendo's came out in the top three - another few reasons to make your way back to JVD.
So, from all of us at WBV, we miss you and remain optimistic and hopeful that the BVI will begin to reopen
to tourists by fall/winter 2020 so you can decide what your favorites are. It will take time to get to a new travel normal. We will be ready when you are.
